Group language classes
A small group, a real tutor, and a term with an end in sight.
Ten-week terms taught live in small groups — in London and online. The same rigorously selected tutors as our private lessons, at a shared price, for people who learn better with others in the room.
Four families
What runs in a term.
Conversation clubs
Weekly speaking practice in a small group with a native tutor. For people who have the grammar and need the confidence — and the mileage.
You can read it and follow it, but you freeze when you have to say it.
Structured courses by level
A ten-week term with a syllabus, from complete beginner upwards. You finish the term measurably further on than you started it.
You want to actually learn the language, in order, with someone tracking that you are.
Exam preparation
Group terms worked backwards from the exam date — GCSE and A-Level, and the DELF, DELE and Goethe diplomas.
There is a date in the diary and a grade attached to it.
Business programmes
Professional language in a small group: meetings, presentations, negotiation and sector vocabulary. Ideal for teams of three and upwards.
You use the language at work, or you are about to have to.
Open now
Start with the language.
Choose your language and you will see every group open in it this term — conversation, structured, exam preparation and business, with the level, day, venue and remaining places for each. London groups meet in person; online groups meet live on video.

Levels
Where do you actually sit?
Most people underestimate themselves by one level and overestimate their speaking by two. If you are unsure, reserve anyway and tick the box — we check your level properly before the term starts, at no cost, and move you if the group is wrong.
- BeginnerA1
- You are starting from nothing, or from school lessons you have entirely forgotten.
- ElementaryA2
- You can order, greet and get by, but a real conversation runs away from you.
- IntermediateB1
- You can hold a simple conversation and be understood, with mistakes you know you are making.
- Upper intermediateB2
- You are comfortable socially and want precision, range and speed.
- AdvancedC1–C2
- You are fluent and want nuance, register and the last ten per cent.
How a term works
From choosing a group to week ten.
Pick the language, the level and the format
Every intake below shows its language, level, day, time, tutor and whether it meets in London or online. What you see is what runs.
Check the level, or let us check it for you
If you are not sure where you sit, say so when you reserve. We will place you properly before the term starts rather than letting you find out in week two.
Reserve your place
Your place is held while you pay. Groups are capped at six, so a held place is genuinely off the market.
Ten weeks, same group, same tutor
One session a week for ten weeks, with the same people and the same tutor throughout. Material and notes are shared after each session.

10 × 90-minute sessions — 15 teaching hours — per learner. VAT included.
Per learner, whole ten-week term. VAT included. Business terms carry their own syllabus and their own prices.
Paid in advance, in full
A group runs only if its places are taken. The term fee is paid in full before the first session, which is what allows us to confirm the tutor and hold the room.
Non-refundable once the term is confirmed
Once a term is confirmed and running, fees are not refundable and places are not transferable to a later term. Please be sure the day and time work for ten weeks before you reserve.
Missed sessions are not credited
A missed session can be caught up with the tutor's notes and material, but it is not credited, refunded or carried over. Groups move together.
If a group does not fill, you are refunded in full
Every group has a minimum size. If we cannot reach it, the term does not run and you are refunded in full — or moved to another intake, whichever you prefer.
Before you reserve
The questions we are asked most.
- How many people are in a group?
- A maximum of six, and most groups run with four or five. It is small enough that you speak in every session — which is the entire point of learning in a group rather than watching a class.
- What if I book the wrong level?
- Tell us you are unsure when you reserve and we will check your level properly before the term starts, at no cost. If the group turns out to be wrong for you after the first session, we move you to a better-suited intake where one exists.
- Are the London classes and the online classes the same course?
- The same syllabus, the same tutors and the same ten-week structure. London groups meet in person at a confirmed venue; online groups meet live with the tutor on video. Every intake below is clearly marked as one or the other — a London group is never quietly moved online.
- What happens if I miss a session?
- You receive the tutor's notes and the material covered, and the tutor will tell you what to work on before the next session. Missed sessions are not credited, refunded or carried over, because the group and the tutor are booked for the full ten weeks.
- Can I pay in instalments?
- Group terms are paid in advance, in full — that is what allows us to hold the price. If instalments matter to you, private lessons are billed monthly and may suit you better.
- What if the group does not fill?
- Every group has a minimum size. If we cannot reach it we tell you before the term starts and refund you in full, or move you to another intake if you would rather.
- Is a group better value than private lessons?
- It is cheaper per hour, and for conversation practice it is often better — you hear other people make the mistakes you are about to make. If your objective is specific, urgent, or tied to your job, private lessons will get you there faster.
- Do you run group classes in every language?
- Group terms run in the languages with enough demand to fill them properly — most reliably French, Spanish, Italian and English, with German and Portuguese terms opening when there are numbers for them. Everything currently open is listed below. If nothing fits, join the interest list for your language and we will tell you when the next term opens.
