But having fun doesn’t mean we don’t take things seriously. You might have goals to meet or grades to hit with your language tutoring, and that’s our business too. But we’re not just grade makers. We’re language lovers. And that’s why we want you to feel engaged and inspired as you learn with us.
It’s why we’re serious about making your journey fun. And it’s also the reason we take time to get to know how you learn best, and your motivation for learning, so we can match you with just the right tutor from our talented team of online language tutors.
You also get to choose whether you learn on a one-to-one basis, or in a small group of two or three fellow students. It’s all about what suits you best.
A Message from Maria Toubbe
I’d been teaching French and Spanish around the world for 10 years when I realised that there were so many people eager to learn a foreign language, but so few quality tutors to support their dreams.
When you’re learning a language, you really do need the full package. You need someone who’s terrific at teaching. Someone you can really talk to on your level. A person who’s understanding and a great listener, and someone you can laugh with, but who you can always trust to keep you focused on your language tutoring goals.
I truly believe that qualifications don’t make a great language tutor. For me, it’s all about a desire to always do your best. It’s about being passionate about your vocation, and about having that natural knack of connecting with your students.
And that’s why in 2014, I founded Learn&Co. My aim was to bring the very best online language tutors together to create a learning environment where students look forward to their lessons, and where they feel excited about their journey.

We have been experts in the online language tutoring experience for many years, and were delivering online one-to-one and small group lessons long before the pandemic put a stop to in-person classes. We understand that some students have doubts about learning with online language tutors, but with such glowing feedback and the majority saying they prefer taking the classes from the comfort of their own home, we are confident that your learning journey will be nothing but positive. And fun!
The answer to this question depends on a number of factors, from how long you are spending with your tutor and how much homework you can tackle each week, to your natural ability to absorb and retain new information and your general dedication. All Learn&Co language courses are designed to ensure that students make rapid progress, and our language tutors will make sure they do all they can to help you meet any goals. But ultimately, it’s a lot to do with what you are willing and able to put in on a personal level.
Homework is a key part of your language learning journey, so you will definitely need to factor time in every week. Homework offers so many benefits, from giving you the chance to review what you’ve learnt, to expanding your knowledge and helping you develop a deeper understanding of the various aspects of the language you’re learning. Through regular homework, you will find your language skills develop faster. So be sure to allow at least 90 minutes per week for homework and vocabulary revision.
Everyone has their own personal learning preferences, which is why we offer a range of language tutoring options. Our most popular is one-to-one online lessons where it’s just you and your tutor. We also offer group classes, but these will never include more than three students. This way, we can ensure everyone gets the attention they need to progress at a decent rate.
Whilst conversation is an important part of your language tutoring journey, there is a lot more to learning a foreign language than mastering the art of dialogue. We wouldn’t be doing our jobs properly if we didn’t spend time teaching you how to read and write in your chosen language. Developing grammar skills is vital. They are the building blocks of any language, and necessary for us to convey what we want to say properly. And in any case, there is every chance that at some point you are going to need to read or write something. Even if it’s a street sign, a menu or a note for hotel housekeeping!
We provide a variety of services, from GSCE and A Level online tuition to revision camps, and from adult to corporate tuition. We also offer taster classes and intensive courses.
