what language do you teach?
ARE YOUR TUTORS EXPERIENCED IN TEACHING?
DO I NEED TO COMMIT TO A NUMBER OF CLASSES?
No, there is no minimum number of lessons required. After your trial lesson and once you confirm you’d like to go ahead with a tutor, you and your tutor will fix your objectives and the frequency and length of lessons.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
We ask our students to give us 48 hours of notice if they need to cancel as it affects the scheduling for other classes and meetings for our tutors. If you cancel less than 48h before you class, the lesson might have to be charged in full.
HOW MANY LESSONS SHOULD I TAKE PER WEEK?
We typically recommend a minimum of one session per week of 1.5 hour. We can also arrange half-day or full-day intensive courses.
CAN I GET A FREE CONSULTATION?
We offer all new students a free introductory assessment with a tutor. A 20-minute online meeting is a chance to get to know your tutor before you start and for them to gauge your current language level and your motivation for learning.
ARE ONLINE CLASSES EFFECTIVE?
At Learn&Co, we’ve been experts in the e-learning experience since long before the current pandemic made in-person classes impossible. While some clients may initially have doubts about the effectiveness of remote language classes, student feedback has been unanimously positive, so much so that most of them say they prefer to have the classes from the comfort of their own home. However, we do plan to offer in-person lessons again when it is safe to do so.
DO YOU ASSIGN HOMEWORK, AND HOW MUCH TIME DO I NEED TO SPEND OUTSIDE OF YOUR CLASSES?
Yes, we are firm believers in the importance of homework. This might sound old-school, but without regular revision of what we covered in class, your language won’t improve as quickly as you might like. So you should spend another 90 minutes a week doing your homework and revising vocabulary.
HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK?
Payment is done monthly. We send you an invoice on the first of the month.
MY EMPLOYER PAYS FOR MY CLASSES. DO YOU PRODUCE INVOICES?
Yes, of course. Just let us know that you need an invoice and we are happy to email it to you.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PROGRESS FROM ONE LEVEL TO ANOTHER?
Our language courses and corporate training are designed to ensure that students make rapid progress. On average, they move up one level every three months, e.g. from A1.1 to A1.2. With most students taking between 1.5 and 2-hour lessons a week.
DO I NEED TO BUY A BOOK FOR MY COURSE?
We usually work with a combination of our own material and texts and exercises from various sources. There is no such thing as the perfect text book and there is no material that suits everyone, so this strategy is usually best for students. We usually work with a combination of our own material and texts and exercises from various sources, which will be provided by your tutor. However in some specific cases, such as when studying for a professional qualification, the use of a textbook can be necessary, in which case it will be at the cost of the client.
WOULD I BE ABLE TO GET A CERTIFICATE AT THE END OF THE COURSE?
While we don’t produce certificates, we can help you obtain them with flying colours. Email us and we are happy to advise. We are of course happy to produce letters confirming your attendance in lessons and progress reports.
